April 27 – Friedrich Wilhelm Christian Camin

The italo-american boxer and heavyweight champion Rocco Francis Marchegiano, better known as Rocky Marciano terminates his career on April 27, 1956. He didn’t loose one fight during his professional career.

On April 27, 1521 Ferdinand Magellan is killed by natives in the Philippines led by chief Lapu-Lapu during the Battle of Mactan.

And on my family tree?

We meet the husband of my first cousin 3x removed Liesbeth Maria Dorothea WARNKE.

Friedrich Wilhelm Christian CAMIN was born on April 27, 1882 in Gischow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. His father Friedrich Christian Johann CAMIN was a mechanical constructor married to Katharina Marie Christine BAUER.

The younger Friedrich took on the same occupation like his father.

On March 9, 1917 he married my cousin 3 removed in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.

So far I only found one child for the couple: their son Carl CAMIN was born on April 17, 1917

The following record is the 1919 census for the CAMIN family living in Gischow:

Camin 1919 census

In the upper section you see Friedrich, his wife Liesbeth and their son Carl living with four non-family members. Three of them are working for the family. The last one is called “Enkel” which means “grandchild”. I just wonder whose grandchild he is. With Friedrich being born 1882 and he being born 1909 he cannot be Friedrich’s and Liesbeth’s grandchild
Very interesting is also the lower section. There the members of the household not being present on the day of the census are stated. It is the older Friedrich (the father), one sister called Elsa VOSS, which means she is married since she has a different last name. And a Lieselotte VOSS, who is Elsa’s daughter.
