On February 19, 1878 Thomas Edison receives a patent for his phonograph.
And on February 19, 1909 my second cousin 3x removed Richard August Joachim Johannes FREYTAG celebrates his wedding with his bride Berta Wilhelmine Elise WARNKE.
Richard is born on July 6, 1884 as the oldest son of the farmer Joachim Heinrich Claus FREYTAG and his wife Caroline Auguste Elisabeth née Kaben, living in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.
Being the oldest son he would inherit the family farm upon his father’s death. He received his christening on July 27, 1884 and his confirmation on March 26, 1899 – both in the church of the parish in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.
Berta was one year younger than her husband, born on June 21, 1885 in Kastahn, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. She got baptized in the same church as Richard on July 5, 1885 and got confirmed there on April 8, 1900.
Following their wedding the couple had 5 children: four girls (of which 2 were twins) and one boy who died as an infant.
According to a remark made by a registrar on his birth certificate, Richard died 1971 in Grevesmühlen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.
I couldn’t find any information on her death for Berta. Data protection is making it harder for me than researching the old records.
