November 17, 1796: On the day of the death of his mother, tsarina Catherine II (also known as Catharine The Great), Paul declares himself the new tsar of Russia.
The events on my family tree are not that majestic.
One is the birth of my 2nd great grand uncle’s wife Elisabeth Dorothea Margaretha FREYTAG on November 17, 1851 in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.
She is the third child of the farmer Johann Heinrich FREYTAG and Anna Maria SCHUMACHER.
She received her christening on November 23, 1851 in Diedrichshagen. On March 25, 1866 she gets confirmed into the lutheranian church.
The 1867 census shows her living with her parents and 4 brothers in Diedrichshagen. Poor girl 😉
On May 30, 1879 she married Johann Joachim Heinrich FREYTAG in Diedrichshagen.
The couple had 4 children I know of so far, born between 1880 and 1889.
The 1919 census shows her living with her son Otto and his family in Diedrichshagen. Her husband Johann died on New Year’s Eve 1890.
Elisabeth died on January 31, 1931 in Diedrichshagen and got laid to rest on January 26, 1931 on the village’s cemetary.
