On November 6, 1880 the french physician Charles Louis Alphonse Laveran discovers the Malaria virus “Plasmodium falciparum” in a blood sample while working in a military hospital in Constantine, Algeria.
And on my family tree? We have another birthday to celebrate.
My 3rd great grand aunt Maria Elisabeth FREYTAG is born November 6, 1827 in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. She is the second of seven children of Johann Heinrich Christian FREYTAG and Catharina Maria OLDENBURG.
Her christening was the next day November 7, 1827 also in Diedrichshagen.
1842 she receives her protestant confirmation in Diedrichshagen.
And on July 25, 1856 she is back in the same church for her wedding with the farmer Joachim Christoph BEHRENS.
Maria gives birth to one daughter before she dies of childbed fever on August 11, 1856 in Warnow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.
She gets laid to rest on the cemetary of Diedrichshagen on August 16, 1856.
